A rare find for an antique lover or restorer! This table measures approximately 75″ open (6′ wide) when the two leaves are inserted. When closed with the sides down it will make a great hall or sofa table! Or open one side and use as a writing table. Closed: 42″L x 20 1/2″W x 30″H. Each leaf is 9″ x 42″. The drop sections are 19″ measuring top to bottom at the center. There is also a center support spindle (shown in photos) to insert when the leaves are added. Note the open table photo with leaves removed for a smaller table look.
History: This gateleg table has been in our family for over 75 years and always looked like it does today. It was a well-used farm work table in my grandparents’ home in the 1940’s and was already old at that time! We do not know where they acquired it originally but know it was their kitchen table for years and was used when preparing meals and canning fruits and vegetables. They purchased furniture items from time to time from friends and local estate sales.
